“Triple Trout”
16-in X 20-in
acrylic on canvas panel
Nov. 2024
Triple Trout is an original 16" x 20" acrylic painting on canvas panel that celebrates the beauty, coloration, and vitality of wild river gamefish. Arranged in a vertical trio, three distinct trout swim against a cool aquatic backdrop patterned with translucent blue bubbles, eddies, and subtle current rings.
The top fish displays the intense coloration of a spawning brook trout, featuring a fiery vermilion belly, emerald flanks, and blue-haloed spots. The middle and lower fish capture the shimmering iridescence of rainbow trout, adorned with luminous pink lateral stripes, mint greens, and dense stippled spotting. Rendered with meticulous pointillist dots, heavy-bodied texture, and crisp dark outlines, the composition blends contemporary wildlife realism with vibrant folk-art energy, making it an ideal centerpiece for anglers, river enthusiasts, and fine art collectors.
