“The Mighty Brown”
16-in X 20-in
acrylic on canvas panel
Oct. 2024
The Mighty Brown is an original 16" x 20" acrylic painting on canvas panel that captures the power, beauty, and predatory spirit of the wild brown trout. Focused tightly on the fish’s profile, the composition highlights an open kype jaw, a sharp dark eye, and an array of signature halos and spots stretching across rich golden and ochre flanks.
The surrounding water is rendered in rhythmic pointillist layers of cerulean, cobalt, and sky blue, evoking oxygenated river currents, bubbling riffles, and mountain stream depths. Intricate stippling, fine graphic contouring, and vibrant red and orange accents across the fins and spots bring this trophy gamefish to life. Blending contemporary aquatic folk art with fine-line precision, it serves as a standout
