“Choices”
16-in X 20-in
Acrylic on Canvas Panel
December 2024
This acrylic painting is a not so subtle reminder that we must all make choices, and sometimes you get the worm, sometimes you get the hook. Just keep swimming.
Freeze the thrill of the strike with this original mixed-media painting of a game fish going after topwater prey. Rendered in a dynamic vertical composition, the artwork captures a bass wide-jawed around an illuminated yellow lure, bridging realistic angling action with imaginative pop-art flair.
The fish’s body is brought to life through hundreds of meticulously layered acrylic dots in emerald greens, bright teals, golden yellows, and a piercing crimson eye. Inside the open gullet, stylized black branch-and-spiral motifs add an unexpected surreal dimension, contrasted against a bubbly aqua-spotted background. Richly textured and full of kinetic energy, this statement canvas makes an unforgettable addition to lake homes, fly-fishing cabins, modern offices, or contemporary wildlife collections.
