“Ball Lightning”
12-in X 24-in X 1-in
acrylic on stretched canvas

Welcome to the Vortex friends! This original acrylic painting is a piece from my ever expanding series exploring strange weather conditions and unusual atmospheric anomalies that some people (not me..., other people) have confused with and reported as physical objects that appear in our skies. Sometimes these misguided individuals even claim to see structured flying crafts with no visible means of providing lift or propulsion performing in ways that we know are impossible. This is my depiction of "Ball Lightning" which is caused by the mixing of warm and cold air and some other stuff that isn’t important for our purposes. I hope that showing what some of these completely ordinary atmospheric conditions actually look like will prove, in at least some people's minds, that there's nothing unusual about these phenomenon…
Step into a vibrant fusion of retro sci-fi lore and visionary cosmic abstraction. This original 12" x 24" vertical acrylic painting captures a surreal extraterrestrial encounter suspended over a dense, stylized evergreen forest.
At the apex, an ornate flying saucer commands the sky, detailed with concentric rings, intricate mosaic-style light ports, and an iridescent core reminiscent of an swirling galaxy. Anchoring the composition below is a radiant, star-crested orb adorned with rich pointillist stippling and glittering jewel tones, supported by alien, organic biomechanical tendrils. In the background, a luminous spiral moon casts a hypnotic glow across layered mountain pines, balancing bold electric blues and turquoise with deep forest greens and vibrant magenta accents.
Hand-painted with rich surface texture, metallic shimmer, and bold graphic outlines, this piece serves as an eye-catching statement artwork for collectors of psychedelic art, sci-fi themes, visionary landscapes, and sacred cosmic geometry.
