ARTIST STATEMENT:

My art is an exploration of reality beyond the boundaries of perception, translated into tangible visual narratives - a trip into imagination and the landscape of curiosity and wonder. My motivation stems from my desire to capture and share a awareness of universal energy and interconnectedness.

Working on canvas and incorporating a variety of techniques; including: color shifting and mixed-media elements, precise dot work, intricate detail, bold lines, and textured application; I build rich, layered surfaces alive with color and energy. I bring together familiar elements of nature, sacred geometry designs, esoteric symbols, and UFO’s/flying saucers to create an image that sparks curiosity and tells a story about connection, intuition, and wonder. I create art to stir curiosity and spark genuine questions: What does it mean for something to be real? What lies just past the limits of our perception? I want my paintings to offer viewers an environment where they can step away from routine distractions, lose themselves in rhythmic detail, and walk away with a renewed sense of wonder about our world and their place in it.

BIO:

Michael Williams is an American painter and the founder of Tennessee Bank Angler Fine Art Studio, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Grounded in a meticulous handling of acrylic on canvas, Williams builds visually dense, vibrant compositions that investigate the threshold between physical reality and conscious experience. His work draws inspiration from the unseen geometries underlying nature—from cellular and quantum patterns to cosmic structures—blending technical discipline with metaphysical inquiry.

> Central to Williams’ visual vocabulary are recurring symbols: freshwater and coastal predators navigating unseen currents; geometric spirals operating as portals of dimensional transformation & high frequency vibrations; and contacts and encounters with UFO’s/flying saucers addressing humanity’s enduring reach into the unknown. He renders these subjects through complex layers of precise dot work, contrasting finishes, and structured lineation that suggest what theoretical physics describes as the "quantum foam"—the vibrating substrate of physical space.

Rather than offering passive decoration, Williams’ paintings serve as invitations to intellectual and intuitive contemplation. By making the unseen palpable through luminous color palettes and rhythmic movement, he asks viewers to acknowledge the veil of ordinary perception and consider what exists just beyond its perimeter. His work is held in private collections throughout the Southeast and is available as both original paintings and museum quality fine-art prints.
